Nelson Brothers accomplish this by focusing on key chemistry building blocks. We manufacture polyisobutylene succinic anhydride (PIBSA), which is the starting point for a wide range of products. Nelson Brothers derivatizes PIBSA with polyamines and polyols to produce emulsifiers, detergents and dispersants.
Nelson Brothers routinely uses a wide variety of molecular weights of polyisobutylene (PIB), both highly reactive and conventional grades. As a consequence, Nelson Brothers offers one of the most comprehensive ranges of PIBSA products available in today’s market.
Advanced PIBSI Dispersants: Enhancing Process Additives
Our polyisobutylene succinimide (PIBSI) based dispersants are used in process additive formulations for oilfield, refining, and chemical plant applications. These specialty process additives keep the operating equipment, such as crude unit preheat exchanger from fouling due to deposition of organic material including asphaltenes.
Other new technologies we are developing for use in applications for oil and gas include new antifoulants based on borates and anhydrides. We are currently working on new PIBSA-based dispersants with various polyols and fatty acids. Slick water additives and new production chemical process additives.
