PIBSA Based Explosive Emulsifiers

Nelson Brothers has developed a range of specialty PIBSA based emulsifier products that can be used as emulsifiers on their own or can be utilized as co-emulsifiers to facilitate ease of formation of an emulsion explosive. Products which are produced using these specially formulated products still retain the excellent stability characteristics of more conventional PIBSA based emulsifiers but also offer enhanced ease of emulsification characteristics.

These products can be used in formulations as a co-emulsifier or as a substitute for sorbitan mono-oleate emulsifiers (SMO) in emulsion formulations.
